Beard to Head Transplant Experiences Shared by Patients

If you’re thinking about having a beard hair transplant, you probably want to hear more about what you can expect.

With that in mind, here are three different experiences from North Atlanta Hair Restoration patients to help you understand more about this innovative procedure.

Real Patient Success Stories

Meet Craig, Age 40 from Maine: Young Hair Transplant Patient

Despite being fairly young, Craig had already had four previous transplants: two FUT strip surgery transplants and two that were a combination of FUT and FUE.

He’d largely exhausted his donor supply, but still wasn’t happy with his results—and as a younger man, he just really wanted more volume for a healthy, natural look.

So he started looking around online and saw how highly rated North Atlanta Hair Restoration is.

He was particularly happy to see the practice had actual beard to head transplant reviews, since many practices don’t even offer this advanced procedure.

So, he set up a consultation, which was refreshing because it was with Dr. Danyo himself, not a sales rep like at all the other clinics he’d reached out to.

As something of a veteran at this, Craig wants people to know that for something this important, you really need to hear from the doctor about your treatment plan and have them answer your questions directly.

Once he talked to Dr. Danyo, he knew North Atlanta Hair Restoration was going to be the right choice.

His procedure was an advanced type of FUE that took 2000 grafts from under his chin, plus some head hair transplanted using a Shave-less FUE technique, as well.

Dr. Danyo used a pen implanter and achieved really tight, clean grafts and impressive density, for the look his patient always wanted.

Craig could tell almost immediately that it was such a big difference over his previous experiences, in terms of quality and skill.

You can see for yourself how good it looks and hear what else Craig had to say about our practice here:

Corrective Beard to Head Transplant

Meet Mike and See His Before and After Photos

Mike had had several FUT strip transplants, starting in 1992, and was told by several practices that they couldn’t do anything more for him.

These left him with a lot of very obvious hair plugs that looked pretty bad—like doll hair, really—and they became even more obvious as his hair loss progressed and the natural hair around them fell out.

Holding out hope that the technology had progressed, he kept looking for new solutions despite repeatedly being told he was out of options.

Luckily, he came upon reviews for North Atlanta Hair Restoration—specifically, reviews about beard to head hair transplants and the incredible results it’s produced for patients like him.

He also saw a client testimonial from Richard—a client with past bad transplant issues just like him.

Mike knew he’d finally found the solution he’d been seeking all those years.

So, after a consultation with Dr. Danyo, he scheduled a first surgery, where the doctor removed 450 of those old hair plugs and placed 800 new grafts from his beard.

Pleased with how the results turned out, he decided to go forward with another beard to head procedure later on—this time 1300 grafts to restore his lost volume, cover those previous bad transplant results, and further rebuild the hairline.

One of the best things about using beard hair for transplantation is that you can get roughly 25% as much coverage with the same number of grafts.

That means that for patients like Mike, the restoration can be truly transformative.

Why Going Turkey Can Be a Mistake: Meet Dan

Dan had a small hair transplant at North Atlanta Hair Restoration back in 2019, but when it came time for more procedures, he decided to try out hair transplantation in Turkey.

Three procedures later, he still wasn’t where he wanted to be.

He especially wanted to restore his hairline, but had seen the unnatural-looking, straight-across results that people often come back with from overseas.

Dan knew this time he needed an expert he could trust—so he called up Dr. Danyo once again.

The treatment plan was to take 1750 grafts from the beard and use them to restore a natural-looking hairline, with all the peaks and soft edges of natural growth.

Dr. Danyo used a pen implanter, which allows for incredible precision and artistry in placement.

It also makes the healing process faster and easier—with far fewer restrictions needed post-op.

Dan noticed the difference right away—he experienced almost no discomfort and was able to sleep in a normal position, wear a hat, and go back to normal activities quickly.

Contrast that with his experiences in Turkey—swelling, big bandages on the head, plus you have to sleep propped up, take extreme care with the new grafts, and avoid exertion for two solid weeks.

It felt like a night and day difference, and the results—well, he could hardly be more pleased.

Questions and Answers About Beard to Head Transplants

Do you do beard to head transplants?

You might say that we specialize in beard to head transplants.

Not all practices are able to perform restorations using hair from the beard—it’s a pretty technically demanding procedure.

However, Dr. Daniel A. Danyo, Dr. Matt Goldstein and their medical team are highly skilled at beard to head transplantation, and they can help you get the results you’ve always wanted.

Will a beard to head transplant look natural?

A beard to head transplant can look completely natural if it’s done right.

But you do need to choose someone experienced in beard to head transplants to ensure you get good results.

A skilled surgeon will carefully select and place the hair, blending it in with existing hair—or hair taken from the back of the head—to fill in the crown, rebuild the hairline, or restore lost volume elsewhere.

Technique and artistry are key, so be sure to find a provider with ample experience and a good track record of providing natural-looking results.

Will I be able to keep my beard?

You should be able to grow and keep your beard pretty much just as you had it before.

An experienced surgeon will harvest the grafts carefully so the beard retains an attractive and even thickness.

Hair is often taken from the chin area to make it even less apparent.

And with modern FUE techniques, you can expect little to no visible scarring—most people can’t even see any difference up close!

However, it’s important to choose someone who really knows what they’re doing for this technically advanced procedure—and be sure to ask questions and voice any concerns.
