The Hair Restoration Journey Part 5 – Hair Surgery Day
We have been talking about the process from discovering you need hair restoration all the way to new hair growth. So far, we’ve discussed the realization, choosing the procedure, choosing your clinic, and the prep work you need to do before your surgery. This week we are going to talk about the day of your surgery.
When you wake up the day of your procedure, eat a small balanced breakfast. You can have coffee, but don’t over-do it. You don’t want to be jittery during your time in the seat. If you have a daily prescribed medicine that you usually take in the morning, go ahead and take it. If you have one that you usually take in the afternoon, let us know so we can build time into the schedule for you to take a break. Don’t wear a pull-over shirt. Make sure it is a button down. Don’t worry about bringing lunch. Lunch and snacks will be provided.
Here are few things to bring:
- Any medications to take later in the day.
- Headphones for listening to music.
- Tablet for watching a downloaded movie.
- Time – procedures usually take a full day. Lower graft amounts may take a half day, but you need to block out the full day, to allow for any difficulties that may arise, due to individual patient needs.
After the procedure, you will leave with a small bag of supplies for your post-operative care. Next week, we will discuss how to take care of your new hair after surgery. For more information, or to schedule a tour of our spa-like facility, give us a call.
