PRP: Not Actual Magic

PRP: Not actual magic

Platelet-rich Plasma injections are one of the most attainable forms of hair restoration. Financially, it is in reach for most people. For the potential results, the investment is shockingly low. To listen to our patients, you would be forgiven for thinking that Dr. Danyo was a wizard, not a seasoned medical professional. No, PRP is not actual magic, but some of the results we have seen are certainly fantastic.

What is PRP?

PRP is short for Platelet-rich Plasma. It is an injection procedure that uses your body’s own cells to stimulate functioning in a desired area. It has been used, most famously, to help with chronic tennis elbow. For the last few years, though, it is gaining notoriety for being the go-to non-surgical hair restoration procedure. During the procedure, your blood is drawn and processed through a centrifuge. The part of the blood that is rich in platelets is separated from the rest of your blood. This part of the blood is what makes up the PRP.

Typically, PRP is administered in a series of four injections. We call this service, “Classic PRP.” While we still offer Classic PRP, we are very proud of our new standard PRP. We have increased the concentration and reduced the number of injections required to meet the desired results. Instead of the normal four injections, with our new PRP, you only need one. Not only is there the potential to see results much sooner, you also save valuable time by not having to come back three more times to reach the same result.
